Nobel Peace Prize Concert

A concert to honour the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize 2009

The Nobel Peace Prize Concert takes place the 11th of December, the day after the prize ceremony, at 8:00 PM.

The concert is arranged by the Norwegian Nobel Comittee to honour the Peace Prize winner. The last years it's been held in Oslo Spektrum, the biggest concert hall in Oslo. It's being broadcasted to over 150 countries and 450 million households around the world.

This year, it is actors Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith who are hosting the Nobel Peace Prize Concert 11th of December. Artists who will be performing on stage are Westlife, Natasha Bedingfield Wyclef Jean, Donna Summer, Toby Keith and more.

The Nobel Peace Prize Concert is higly acclaimed and popular, and it's an honour to be invited to perform. Each year it's visited by some of the biggest names in the world of music. Some examples from the last few years are Diana Ross, Lionel Richie, Willie Nelson, Paul McCartney, Andrea Bocelli, Diana Krall, Craig David, Angelique Kidjo and Santana.

The hosts of the show are always big names from the entertainment business, actors in particular. The 2008 concert was hosted by Scarlett Johansson and Sir Michael Caine, in 2007 it was Uma Thurman and Tommy Lee Jones, in 2006 it was Sharon Stone and Anjelica Houston, in 2005 it was Julianne Moore and Salma Hayek, and in 2004 Oprah Winfrey og Tom Cruise had the honours.
